Yesterday was Saturday and Saturday night brought quite a collection of young people, their music, and their habits to units surrounding our dear unit. I had to create my first playlist with iTunes. It was , hmm, eclectic? From Antony and the Johnson’s tribute to Divine, to Laurie Anderson, Oscar Brown, Jr., Van “the Man,” Chicago’s own Patti Barber, Femi Kuti, and even Las Vegas Lounge singer Cook E. Jarr. It stopped the young people with their Seattle suicide tributes.
I was worried I wouldn’t be able to sleep, but right at midnight, like in a fairy tale, they all went somewhere else. That’s what I call peaceful co-existence.
