We finally got to Peanut Island after its extensive development by the county. Ma and I had gone there years ago, but all that was on the island was the Coast Guard station and the very strange attaction, the JFK bunker. Now there is an artificial lagoon and nice protected reef for snokeling, several beaches, nice facilities, and a walk that runs the mile or so around the island.
We took the Sailfish Marina Water Taxi, from Singer Island, but there is also a ferry from Riviera Beach. We had a nice drive after spending about 4 hours on the island. Our big accomplishment — not getting burned to a crisp, despite lots of snokeling.
Another highlight/ritual, is our Friday visit to Falcon House. It was, as usual, very nice. Now it under new ownership, but we had nice chat with Tim, the former owner, and now still bartender there.
